Hello everyone, my name is Mariana, yes it is in Spanish, but I like people to call me Marianne, which is a easier way to say my name if you speak English. I just graduated last summer from college and I have a BA in Literature and Translation. Last December I finished a 4 year Italian course and now I'm finishing a German course. As you can see I like learning languages, by the way, Spanish is my mother tongue.
I decided to create this blog to keep writing about the things I like and I'm passionate about. I used to write a lot because of the works, papers and essays I had to do in university (most of them related to literature and literary works) but now that I've finished it I haven't wrote like before.
Through my BA I realized I enjoy writing, even though my grammar isn't always perfect because English is my L2, I really like writing about books, I like exploring new topics, I love writing about what happens to me, about my thoughts, etc. Right now I'm looking for a job, and let me tell you IT ISN'T SO EASY. As I have a BA in English everyone has this idea that I'll end up being an English teacher, something that I want to. What I want to do is to write. I want to write about books, about people, about interesting things, I want to write about what's going on in the world, about culture, nature, whatever, I just want to write. Therefore, I'd love to get a job in a newspaper or in a magazine, that will be perfect for me. So, because of this and because I'm a translator I have to keep writing, I must not stop. I remember that in the 2nd year of my BA, a professor of one of my Translation subjects told to the class that as translators we must not stop writing, because that's what we do, we make writing our life. This is the main point why I decided to make this blog.
If I ever want to get a job that has anything to do with writing, I must keep writing and never leave it.
